Aldershot Quiz Night September 2024

The first Quiz Night of 2024 with the newly merged Farnborough & Aldershot Lions Club took place in early September at the Excelsior Club in Aldershot. The event was held to raise funds for Lions community work throughout the borough of Rushmoor.

The Quiz Night had 7 teams attending but despite having fewer teams than normal still raised a magnificent £376.00. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the quiz teams attending for their tremendous support.

This support will enable Farnborough & Aldershot Lions to continue their work helping those in hardship throughout the borough. This includes work helping the hungry through the Grub Hub, organising a prostate cancer screening event for men in Aldershot and Farnborough, helping with funding to the Mustard Seed Autism Trust, the supply of new cookers to 3 local families in need, the supply of 5 portable wood burning stoves for displaced people in war torn Ukraine and contributing towards the costs of running the Lions Community Store which recycles household goods and clothing to local families in difficulty.

The competition was very close with the winning team 'Scumbag College' with 119.6 points beating 'Charlie's Angels' into 2nd place by just half a point. 'Area 51' came in 3rd with 113 points. For the full score sheet click on the scoreboard icon below.

The next Farnborough & Aldershot Lions Quiz Night is taking place on Saturday 19th October at St Marks Hall, Farnborough.
