Farnborough and Aldershot Lions Charity Grants
Farnborough and Aldershot Lions have supported the Lions Community Store in Fleet. since its formation in 1995 when the Lions Clubs of Yateley & District, Fleet, Farnborough, Hart and Hook & Odiham combined to recycle household items such as furniture, kitchen appliances, white goods and clothing to donate s to people who have fallen into difficult times. In the subsequent years, this help has extended to providing emergency food parcels, especially at Christmas.
Farnborough & Aldershot Lions made a donation of £2,000 towards the running costs of the Community Store and to help with the cost of food parcels to the needy at Christmas. In 2023 the Community Store delivered 604 hampers to local households and toys to 1265 children to open on Christmas Day. During the same period they sent out gifts to a further 110 adults who would normally be overlooked. The Grub Hub
The Community Grub Hub in Aldershot opened its doors in December 2021 as a collective of people, organisations and businesses in and around Farnborough and Aldershot.
They care about offering food support to those in need in an open and supportive way, while reducing food waste. It was also set up to help with the increasing need within the local community for an independent foodbank.
Since opening, the Community Grub Hub has developed into a welcoming warm place for residents to help feed and clothe themselves and their families during these difficult times. It also provides an opportunity to speak to experts on issues around energy and debt management. For further information about the Aldershot Grub Hub Click Here

The charity division of MHA run clubs and activities for older people through befriending, lunch clubs, assisted shopping, activity and friendship sessions, outings, escorts to appointments and much more. MHA locally only get about £4,000 in grants and have to raise the remaining £40,000 plus costs annually themselves. Therefore Farnborough & Aldershot Lions are proud to be able to help with this £1,000 donation to be used to help towards opening a lunch club for the elderly. At MHA Communities Hampshire North they enable older people to maintain their independence and live more fulfilled lives. For further information about MHA in Hampshire Click Here
